Well, Katelyn finally came into the world on Friday, June 1st at 8:32 PM. They ended up inducing me because I had Preeclampsia(sp?) and I was able to give natural birth/no c-section.

So, we have sent in the money to purchase yet another franchise. This one in Interlochen. Didn't have enough of a headache, I needed more to do. Actually, I am really excited! We are really blessed that we have a great manager for our store in Kingsley, and I have someone stepping up to the plate to manage the one in Interlochen.

The weather is finally going my way up North. We have sunny skies and I believe it was 59 degrees today (which is a heat wave here, lately). I am hoping the snow is finally gone until next winter. It think it was Monday where we were hit with all kinds of weather, snow, sleet, hail and rain. . .then it was sunny. If you hate the weather so much, just wait a minute...because you may hate it even more!!

Going to the Zoo for Mama's day this weekend. My niece is receiving her first communion, so I am going to that and then appreciating my Mom after that. Should be a good time had by all.

Well, got's to go. . .I am a member of this book club and we are discussing My Sister's Keeper tonight. Really good book . . .read it on the plane on our way to Jamaica.

Just got back from Jamaica mon and had a blast! jumped off a cliff (best experience there) and did some snorkeling. Also got native and shelled up some cash to get my hair braided. I am think of keeping it this way. . .so low maintenance!!

There were 8 of us total that were there and every day was sunny and 80! (better than the 13 degrees we came back to). We went on a booze cruise that consisted of a lot of rum punch, beautiful snorkeling and falling down the water slide at Jimmy Buffet's Margarittaville! That was the best snorkeling while there. . .lots and lots of beautiful fish.

We stayed in Montego Bay but spent a day in Negril. Where we went Jet skiing, shopping and for our final adventure, jumping off a cliff. I was the first to go (much to everyone's shock). It was fun fun fun!! I loved it!

I spent one day in bed sick from too much fun and sun, but other than that it was great!

Not quite ready for the real world. But I am getting around to it!

I was seriously thinking of eloping after my weekend with the mother. It all went well up to the end when she really told me what she thinks of my fiance. She is very dissappointed that we won't be doing a mass for the wedding and thinks it is because Tad hasn't gotten his first communion (she thinks that is very selfish of him). I explained that the reason there is no mass is because Father Farrell talked us out of it because he feels it takes away from the specialness of the mass when you combine it with a wedding and if Tad is selfish than there would be no nothing in the church because there would have been no annullment.

I was so angry at my mom that I came home and told Tad that we could be married as early as February 20th if he was willing to get married in Jamaica. . .but being the "selfish" one he said that he really wants to get married in the church surrounded by loved ones and seeing me walk down the aisle (ah. . .I love this man).

so, talked to the mom today and everything is "fine" until the next confrontation. I know how she feels about Tad, I just wish she would shut up about it.

Found the bridesmaids dresses that I want. . .need to get Georgie down state with me to try it on and get Connie's measurements. I also may have found my dress. Just need to try it on in my size.

That is it for now. I know I haven't really talked much about the whole wedding thing. . .probably because I would much rather get married on the beach in my barefeet. Never been really into the white dress affair. . .but I will do it for my man and our families and party big time after it is all over!

You Are 30 Years Old

30

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

It has been 6 months since my last puff. I have that meter that tells how long and how much money saved and all that, so today I put $754 into savings since that is how much I have saved by not smoking.

Getting closer to my goal of getting a plasma t.v.!!

Christmas was good. Went and saw the folks in the zoo. I got some snow shoes that I was only able to use a couple of days since all the snow has melted. We are supposed to get some here soon, so I will get to put those suckers back on. It was quite the work out! I loved it!!

I have been working a lot! It has been a bit slow so I am putting in more hours so less moola I have to shell out to employees. Just have to get through the next couple of months until tax season!

Wishing everyone a happy new year! and here's hoping it is the best one yet!

I cannot believe it has been 5 months since my last cigarette! My goal after a year is to buy myself a plasma t.v. Me want one so bad!!

I also have weight goals:
5 pounds - nice boots with heels so I can look sexy this winter
10 pounds - a new MP3, mine isn't working and I have resorted to my c.d. player
15 pounds - A definite makeover, hair, massage, the works!!
20 pounds - my goal!! I will have to come up with something awesome! Oh, yeah maybe actually go looking for a wedding dress!!

anyhoo, work is getting busy again with the start up of winter sports. Yeah!! We are actually having the volleyball invitational with our name on it. . . the Subway Invitational!! So it will be a busy, hectic day on January 8th.

This weekend is family Christmas with Tad's family and finding a tree with the two Ts. Next weekend is field trip with the 2nd grade class (full of Polar Express) and the Detroit Lions game. Then we have Christmas. So, it looks like December is full of fun stuff to do!!

Tonight is Tayler and Meags night. Tad is out of town so when the cat is away the mice will play. I am picking her up from school and we are going to Traverse. Should be fun!!

I am actually at the Subway right now putting in an entry! It has been one of those quiet mornings in which everything has gotten done and I actually have a chance to breath!

I know caos is on the horizon since our food order is coming today but I actually got a chance to organize the walk-ins before the food is here (he is usually here at 6:30 in the morn and on Thursdays, but with the holiday, everything is up in the air).

I have started leaving here at 1PM to partake in some major body overhaul. My friend Stacy is the manager at Curves and is whipping me into shape! We are doing weight training on Monday, Wed, and Fridays and cardio on Tues, Thurs and Saturdays. . .with Sundays off (thank God). She just got engaged last night so we are both working on some bridal hot bods!!

Yesterday I actually did 70 minutes of cardio! Haven't done that in forever! I was exhausted and proceeded to go to bed at 9.

Also watching my calories. Trying to keep it at 1200. Hard with the holidays coming up, but I am staying home for Turkey Day and not partaking in any of the festivities. It will nice to have an actual day off!! Subway isn't open so I won't have anybody calling me at home. Yippee!! It looks like movie time!

So, there is a bit of an update! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

Finally have a date set for the wedding! May 14th. It has been a long time coming and now I get to actually start planning. My Mom and I went and tried on a few dresses and looked at colors of the bridesmaids. I am going to have my Matron of Honor, Georgie, come home with me at some point in time so she can try a couple of them on. There is one that is plum that I love!

I am going with my Mom on Wednesday to look at reception area and try out some wedding cakes. Fun fun fun!

Work was really emotional this past week. I had my computer crash and had to reinstall everything. Thank God for the computer genius I have working for me in the A.M. He was able to find all my back up stuff and reinstall that. Otherwise I would have been starting from scratch.

We also passed with flying colors when we had a mystery shopper from subway come in. I was working with Court and we upsold her. Yeah!! I could win a trip to Hawaii if we pass all other tests! And Lord knows I need a vacation.

(Although, we are going to Jamaica in February with Georgie and her hubby John).

I just got done reading most of the journals I have missed out on and everyone sounds like they are living through it like myself!! I am 14 weeks non smoking and have been 2 weeks strong in working out my muscles and doing the ole cardio thing. So, I am slowly getting back on track!

Until next time!!

It is one cold day here in Northern Michigan. I don't think it will see its way past 60. My hands are freezing as a type this (i am hopine that typing will warm them up). My car is also starting to do that slow start thing in the morning.

Just been working working working and really nothing to show for it yet. I know it all takes time but man I am exhausted! I have finally found someone to open a couple of mornings a week so I can get some sleep in time. This everyday 6:30 in the morning routine is getting a bit old.

i have also officially started some sort of work out routine. After quitting smoking (10 weeks now) and not having a time out from the Subway, I have gained quite a bit of poundage. But with somebody trained for the AM, I can now get some me time at the gym. Yeah!!

I also picked up Dr. Phil's book for a read through. A friend suggested it to me because her and I are both emotional eaters. Just say no to the cookies!!

Going to a cousins wedding this weekend, so I finally get to see the family. The last time was at my Grandma's funeral, so it will be nice to see them on happier terms.

and it looks as if I will be borrowing $$ from the Dad. We are going to have to take some people to court to get back our $20 - $30,000 that we spent on the environmental. Pain in my ass but we shouldn't have to pay for it. Tad and I are constantly at odds about the financial situation and the bank can't help us out because we are stretched!! There are two bills that I am worried about and the rest I can worry handle. . .man oh man. . .the first year is definitely a bitch!! a lot of eating at the restaurant and at home. No romantic dinners out of the house.

And we still have a wedding to plan. Hopefully meeting with the priest next month. It has been so hard to schedule anything because each week we have either had an employee sick or needing to go to a funeral. That means meags works those hours. Let us hope we can find a time and make it stick!!

Anhoo, off to go for a walk outside. The sun is shining so I might as well take advantage of it.

Love to all!!

Okay, I have gone a whole month without smoking and haven't gained any weight (in fact, I have lost some with all the free time I have to work out and do free weights). I do believe I still have friends despite the grumpy mood that I sometimes have due to the not smoking. However, I feel pretty good.

President Bush was here today. I got home just in time to see his speech on t.v. He is much more relaxed when he is visiting towns than when he is giving those long winded speeches to Congress! He actually was a bit funny! We haven't had a President visit here since 1975. That is a long ass time and the Prez took his time to see us despite everything else that is going on in the world.

Business is good. Just waiting to get the breakfast thing started. Probably not for another couple of weeks because I am on vacation from Friday to Monday (going to NASCAR) and I already have the schedule posted for the next couple of weeks.

I also hope to start planning a wedding. We are looking at the spring but I have to get off my ass and call the priest. I just don't know what my schedule is going to be like. I will probably wait until after NASCAR.

Tad and I went to Petoskey this past weekend. We got a hotel room for $99 which is unheard of this time of year. We also went and saw how the rich people live in Bay Harbor and Harbor Springs. Million dollar mansions and 3 story boats, oh what a life.

So, all is good in my world. The true test for the not smoking thing will be this weekend while partying at NASCAR. I think I will do pretty well since none of my friends smoke and the taste of a cigarette makes me a little sick to the stomach. Tad has been good, too. although I have caught him chewing a couple of times. We will see how he does this weekend.

Tah tah for now!!

So, things are going well. I am training three new people this week. So, it will be a long week but hopefully they will catch on lovingly.

Sandy (Tad's ex) is quitting her job and working for her man. He does landscaping and snowplowing so I don't know exactly what she will be doing. Her job was pretty top notch, so she must be pretty unhappy if she is leaving. She has broken ground for a house to be built finally so that is some wonderful news.

I love what I am doing! When I am there it is a blast but when I get home I am just dead tired! I am beginning to see the ins and outs of things and getting to know what to order week by week. And the people keep coming in which is a wonderful thing. We actually had some people walk out today because we were lined up out the door, but I would much rather they leave because of a long line than because we suck.

It is a bit slower when training people but hopefully they will get it and be able to become full fledged sandwich artists!

Next monday is my first official day off since we opened. We are taking Tay-Tay to Michigan Adventure. I am hoping to do the rip cord and get my video taken. Hopefully it doesn't rain and all is warm.

We are also going to NASCAR at the end of the month, so I am training somebody for morning duty. It will be difficult to give it up for 4 days, but I need a vacation!

We are actually going with a big group of people so it should be fun fun fun!!

Outie!

Well, we are up and running and it is crazy! Crazier than I expected (but that is a good thing).

I am slowly getting the hang of things but have found myself calling Gordon's food service my home away from home. We have run out of lettuce, pickles and such so I have been getting some drive time back and forth from town. Sooner or later I will get the hang of it.

Finally got some much needed R&R this weekend. Caught up on my sleep and have found 2 good closers (so I don't have to be there morning noon and night).

This week is get Meags organized. I have somebody doing the opening so I can get some of my behind the scenes stuff done. We are also starting our Tuesday special this week. should be crazy fun.

Anyhoo, that is about it with me. Just working and doing some more of that working thing and when I am done working I come home and do some more working. All fun though and love the staff that we hired.

I don't know if it is the crunch but I love those little crackers. I just ate them while reading up on everybody. Probably not the best din-din, but it can't be the worst.

Seating and tables are put together, computer is up and running and working on the menu board. Found out that we need a hood, that was put on order on Friday. If it comes in the next couple of days, we may be rockin' and rollin' by the weekend!

I am exhausted but in a good way. Tad and I went out to dinner last night (of course it was around 10 PM when we finally got to the restaurant, it looked like it was going to be all work and no play) and had an awesome time. Didn't go to sleep until 2 AM. I love that man! And we definitely needed that bonding time.

I had to come home for a phone number so I thought I would check on you all and give a little update on meself!

Went to a wedding at Michigan State this past saturday. Tad wasn't feeling very well, so he wasn't having the most fun of a time. He was one of the groomsmen, so he had to stick around for a time. It was a beautious afair, however, and the Alumni Chapel is very cool.

The reception was in the student union where we all roasted until the sun went down. I was just sweatin' up a storm!

We stayed at the Kellogg Center where the rooms are as big as a closet. I would have thought for such a nice place, they would have bigger rooms.

all-in-all a good weekend though. I wish Tad would have felt a bit better since this was the last "mini-vaca" we will be having for a while.

coca cola is putting in their stuff as I type. I was down at the shop this morning waiting for them. Tayler and I sat ever so patiently (yeah, right) until this pulled up at 9 AM. I am trying to get on some sort of schedule, so I got up at 6 AM this morning and did my Firm video, cooked waffles for Tayler and made Tad's lunch and was out the door at 7:45. I love the fact that the Subway is only 10 minutes away (if that).

the plumber seems to be missing in action and we need the water turned on! Curt from Subway is coming to meet with me tomorrow. I am sure he will be able to give me more of a timeline on when everything can happen. I think as of right now training on the weekend, open Monday. . .but we shall see what he has to say.

Anyhoo, that is about all. I should probably get my booty back down there and get to work. . .watching everyone do their job. Sickes and Bob are supposed to be down there sometime to help me put up some panels and such.

Furniture hopefully tomorrow after doing some cleaning.

Later. MEAGS

Well, I am home alone tonight. Tayler is in the U.P. (Upper Peninsula of MI for those of you not from the stat) with her friends and Tad is at MSU for a wedding. I am drinking a glass of red wine and reading up on all of you.

I was outside earlier and I heard this heavy breathing. I thought it was a cow because it was pretty loud and heavy but it was actually a deer. I didn't think deer breathed that heavy.

all the equipment is in the Subway. Now it needs to be wired and and fired up. It is being wired tomorrow and fired up on Monday. Health department comes Tuesday and if all goes well we will start to train on Wednesday.

But, tomorrow I am off to MSU for the wedding. It should be fun. Tad will be all dressed up in a tux but of course I won't get to see him too much since he is in the wedding party. Just hope I get to sit at a fun table!

Sunday, we come back and go back to work at getting the menu board up and panels on the front of the equipment. We will also have to put the paneling on the walls and hopefully get the furniture all put together. Still a bit of work to do but hopefully we will be making money by the weekend.

Then we have a wedding to plan. Hopefully we have an independent staff because the wedding planning is going to be 2 1/2 hours away. So, Tad and I will have to make some trips down state to meet with the priest and get all the plans in order. We want to get married in October but that may not be doable since we have a lot on our plate. I would so love to be married by the end of the year. Even if it has to be in December. We will see.

So, goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite. But if they do, save a few because they are delicious to chew.

Well, only one more week of being unemployed and then let the fun begin! The tile is being put in as we speak, so we are hoping to get the equipment in before friday and have Sickes do a start-up.

It was a busy busy weekend of work and fun combined. I went out with my g-friend Gina on Friday and had fun bonding over drinks and food and more drinks. I got home about 9:30 and was up and at em on Saturday for work with my man tad. We got the back room all vinyled (which was our goal for the day). It took about 8 hours to get it done, but it was finally off the list of things to do.

We then went to Jason and Tonia's house for a bit of redneck golf and merriment around the campfire. Songs were not sung but there was a bit of roasted marshmellows. We didn't get home until 3 AM and were up and at em at. . .11 AM.

We then hired Tad's parent on as stainers and painter and got all the doors stained, the windows stained, the back room painted and the back door painted a second coat. Tad and I then spent time cleaning everything up so that went the tile men come they didn't have to spend time sweeping and vacuuming, they could just do their thing.

Tonight will be putting polyurethene on the doors to give them a gloss and putting the wood strips around the room.

The electrician was there to put his stuff into the grid on the ceiling and hopefully get the cooler up and running.

so, it actually looks like we may open! Yeah!

We can finally be bringing in some money because lord knows we have none!!
